１１月７日（土）橋本市教育文化会館で、英語スピーチコンテストが行われ、本校３年Ａ組の小林実央さんが発表しました。

Hello everyone, I am Kobayashi Mio and I`m a third grade student at Koyaguchi Junior High School. I play in the school brass band. There are thirty –seven members in the brass band. I play the Saxophone. I have admired how my sister plays the Saxophone for many years now. She is a very dedicated musician. My best friend in the brass band is also my rival because she has been chosen many times to perform the Saxophone solo. I practiced very hard and eventually was chosen to perform the solo too.

We practiced every day after school for up to three hours and during the summer vacation we practiced for seven hours each day. In September we competed in the Wakayama marching contest and won the gold prize for our efforts. After winning, we were invited to take part in the Kansai marching contest. Marching is very difficult because we have to all perform different movements. To show that our performance was better, we all had to take the perform in the lead position.
I was very happy to compete in the contest because we were rewarded with the bronze prize. It was a great experience for everyone in the band.

I think that being in the brass band has taught us all the importance of team work, friendship and most of all, to be considerate of others.
In the future, I would like to take these lessons learnt and apply them to my life.
